60 Degrees North
Jul 13, 2011
My recent trip to the Shetland Islands with Henry Topham was a journey to discover a different world and explore a part of the United Kingdom that I had never previously considered visiting.
Leaving the Scottish mainland we took an overnight ferry to the capital, Lerwick. The 14 hour sail not only emphasised how far north the islands are (60 degrees north) but also gave us a flavour of the dramatic cliffs and wild coastline as we passed Sumburgh Head at the south of the mainland.
